Custom Millwork Saskatoon
Every commercial space has details that off-the-shelf products can’t solve. A reception desk that needs to fit an awkward corner. Trim profiles that have to match a building’s original character. Wall panelling that has to look good and hold up to years of daily traffic.
That’s where custom millwork in Saskatoon comes in.
At Broadway Millwork and Construction, we design and build custom millwork for commercial projects across Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. We’ve been doing this for over 30 years, and our CNC manufacturing equipment lets us produce pieces with a level of precision and consistency that handwork alone can’t match.
Whether you need architectural woodwork for a new build or replacement millwork for a renovation, we handle everything from design through installation.

What is Custom Millwork?
Custom millwork is any woodwork that is designed and built to order for a specific project. It covers a wide range of products, including trim and molding, wall panelling, wainscoting, built-in shelving, reception desks, display cases, and specialty architectural pieces.
The difference between custom millwork and stock products is simple. Stock products come in standard sizes and profiles. Custom millwork is built to your exact specifications, so it fits your space perfectly and matches your design intent.
For commercial projects, custom millwork matters because no two buildings are exactly alike. Ceiling heights vary. Walls are rarely perfectly square. Existing finishes and architectural details need to be matched or complemented. Off-the-shelf trim and millwork can come close, but close is not the same as right.
Our custom millwork services in Saskatoon cover everything from simple trim profiles to complex architectural woodwork. If it can be built from wood, engineered wood, or laminate, we can design and manufacture it.
Commercial Millwork Applications
Custom millwork shows up in more places than most people realize. Here are some of the most common commercial applications we handle at Broadway Millwork.
Reception desks and front counters. Your reception area is the first thing visitors see. A custom reception desk built to your brand and your space makes a stronger impression than a generic piece of furniture ever could. We build reception desks for corporate offices, medical clinics, and retail locations across Saskatchewan.
Trim and molding. Crown molding, baseboards, casing, chair rail, and custom profiles. When a project calls for a specific trim profile that isn’t available off the shelf, we can replicate it or create something new. This is especially useful for heritage building renovations where existing trim needs to be matched exactly.
Wall panelling and wainscoting. Wood panelling adds warmth and character to conference rooms, lobbies, and executive offices. We manufacture flat panel, raised panel, and shiplap-style wall treatments in a range of wood species and finishes.
Built-in shelving and display cases. Libraries, retail stores, showrooms, and offices all benefit from built-in millwork that is designed around the space rather than dropped into it. We build custom shelving units, display cabinets, and storage systems that make the most of your available square footage.
Specialty architectural pieces. Columns, ceiling beams, radius work, curved millwork, and one-of-a-kind pieces that don’t fit into any standard category. These are the projects where our CNC manufacturing capabilities really make a difference, because they allow us to cut complex shapes and profiles with tight tolerances.
If your project includes millwork that doesn’t fall neatly into one of these categories, call us at (306) 975-2020. There’s a good chance we’ve done something similar before.

Our CNC Precision Manufacturing
CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. In plain terms, it means our cutting and shaping equipment is guided by computer programming rather than by hand alone.
Here’s why that matters for your project.
Accuracy. Our CNC machines cut to tolerances within fractions of a millimetre. When you need 50 identical trim pieces or a complex reception desk with curved elements, every piece comes out exactly the same. No variation from one end of the run to the other.
Consistency across large runs. Commercial projects often call for hundreds of identical parts. Cutting these by hand introduces small differences from piece to piece. CNC manufacturing eliminates that problem entirely.
Complex shapes and profiles. CNC equipment can produce curves, custom profiles, and intricate patterns that would be extremely time-consuming or impossible to produce by hand. This opens up design possibilities that wouldn’t be practical otherwise.
Speed. Once a design is programmed, CNC equipment can produce parts faster than manual methods. That helps us keep project timelines on track, which matters when your contractor is waiting on millwork to continue their work.
We pair our CNC manufacturing technology with experienced craftspeople who handle assembly, finishing, and quality checks. The machines do what machines do best, and our team does the rest.
Custom Design and Fabrication Process
Working with Broadway Millwork on a custom millwork project follows a clear, step-by-step process. No surprises, no guessing about what comes next.
Step 1: Consultation and site assessment. We start with a conversation about your project. What do you need? What are the design goals? What is the timeline? For most commercial projects, we’ll visit the site to take measurements and assess conditions. This step is free with no obligation.
Step 2: Design and material selection. Based on the consultation, we develop detailed drawings for your approval. We’ll walk you through material options, finish choices, and any design alternatives worth considering. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting before we cut a single piece of material.
Step 3: CNC manufacturing. Once you approve the design, we program our CNC equipment and begin production. All manufacturing happens in our Saskatoon shop, which means we have full control over quality and can make adjustments quickly if needed.
Step 4: Finishing. We apply your chosen finish, whether that’s paint, stain, lacquer, or laminate. Every piece is inspected before it leaves the shop.
Step 5: Delivery and installation. Our installation team handles delivery, on-site fitting, and final adjustments. We don’t subcontract installation to third parties. The same company that built your millwork is the one installing it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does a custom millwork project take? Timelines depend on scope. Simple projects like custom trim runs can be completed in 2 to 4 weeks. Larger projects involving reception desks, wall panelling, or multi-room millwork packages typically take 6 to 12 weeks from design approval to installation.
Q: What materials do you work with? We work with solid wood, plywood, MDF, melamine, laminate, and engineered wood products. Material selection depends on the application, your budget, and the look you’re going for. We’ll help you choose the right material during the design phase.
Q: Do you handle installation? Yes. Our in-house installation team delivers and installs all millwork we manufacture. We don’t subcontract installation, which means the people installing your millwork are the same people who built it.
