Restaurant Millwork & Hospitality Cabinetry
Running a restaurant is hard enough without worrying about whether your cabinets can take the heat. Between the steam, the spills, and the constant opening and closing, restaurant millwork needs to handle things that would destroy regular cabinetry in months.
We build restaurant millwork that holds up. For over 30 years, Broadway Millwork has worked with restaurant owners, bar managers, and hotel operators across Saskatchewan. We know what works in a commercial kitchen and what falls apart after the first busy season.
Whether you need commercial kitchen cabinets, a custom bar, or a front-of-house setup that matches your brand, we build it to last. Every piece is cut on our CNC machines for a precise fit, and we use materials that meet commercial food safety standards.

Our Commercial Cabinet Installation Process
We do not show up and start drilling. Every installation starts with a clear plan so your team knows what to expect and nothing gets missed.
Here is what the process looks like from start to finish:
Pre-Installation Walkthrough Before we bring anything in, one of our installers does a site visit. We confirm measurements, check wall conditions, identify any potential issues, and make sure the space is ready. This step keeps surprises from showing up on installation day.
Delivery and Staging Your cabinets arrive from our Saskatoon shop, where they were built using CNC precision manufacturing. We stage everything on-site so the installation moves efficiently without crowding your space.
Professional Installation Our installers work methodically. Every cabinet gets levelled, secured, and aligned properly. Hardware gets checked. Doors and drawers get adjusted. We do not rush, because sloppy work shows up fast in a commercial setting.
Final Inspection and Walkthrough When the installation is done, we walk through the finished space with you. We want you to see exactly what was installed and confirm that everything meets your expectations before we leave.
Whether it is a full office fit-out, a medical clinic, a restaurant, or a retail space, we bring the same attention to detail to every project. Take a look at our commercial cabinet services to see the types of cabinets we build and install.
Front-of-House & Back-of-House Solutions
Your restaurant has two very different worlds. The front needs to look great for guests. The back needs to survive years of daily abuse. We build millwork for both.
Front-of-House Millwork
The dining area, bar, and entrance are the first things your customers notice. We build:
- Host stands and reception areas that set the tone for your restaurant
Bar cabinetry and shelving designed around your drink program and storage needs - Booth seating and banquette millwork built to handle years of use
- Room dividers and decorative panels to separate dining areas
- Custom reception desks for hotels and hospitality venues
We work with your designer or architect to match the exact look you want. Whether that is reclaimed wood for a rustic feel or sleek laminate for a modern space, we can build it.
Back-of-House Millwork
Behind the kitchen doors, appearance matters less than durability. Your back-of-house millwork needs to:
- Stand up to heat, moisture, and constant cleaning
- Meet health inspection requirements
- Make the best use of tight storage spaces
- Allow quick access during rush hours
We build storage cabinets, prep stations, dish storage areas, and shelving systems that your kitchen staff can depend on shift after shift.

Bar & Serving Station Design
A good bar setup does two things at once: it looks great from the guest side, and it works smoothly from the bartender side. We have built bars for pubs, cocktail lounges, hotel restaurants, and quick-service setups across Saskatchewan.
What Goes Into a Custom Bar Build
Under-bar cabinetry. Organized storage for bottles, glassware, and bar tools. We design compartments around the equipment you actually use, from ice bins to speed rails.
Bar tops and counters. We install commercial countertops built for the abuse a busy bar takes. Think spills, heavy glasses, and constant wiping. Our countertop options include laminate, solid surface, and quartz, each with different trade-offs in cost and durability. You can compare them in our countertop materials guide.
Display shelving. Back-bar shelving that shows off your bottle selection while keeping everything within reach. We can add lighting channels, glass holders, and custom spacing based on your inventory.
Serving stations. For restaurants with a separate wait station, we build compact millwork that keeps cutlery, napkins, condiments, and POS equipment organized without taking up floor space.
Every bar build starts with a conversation about how your staff actually works during a busy night. That is what drives the design.
Food-Safe Materials & Finishes
Choosing the right materials is one of the most important decisions for restaurant millwork. The wrong finish can harbour bacteria, fail a health inspection, or start peeling after a few months of heavy cleaning.
We use food-safe, commercial-grade materials and finishes that meet the standards your health inspector expects:
High-pressure laminate (HPL). One of the most popular choices for restaurant cabinetry. HPL is durable, easy to clean, and available in hundreds of colours and patterns. It resists moisture, stains, and moderate heat.
Solid surface. A non-porous material with no seams where bacteria can hide. Solid surface is a strong choice for prep areas and anywhere that needs frequent sanitizing. Small scratches can be buffed out, which helps it look good longer.
Thermally fused melamine (TFM). A budget-friendly option that still provides a smooth, cleanable surface. TFM works well for back-of-house storage and areas with less direct exposure to moisture and heat.
Low-VOC and eco-friendly options. If you are working toward green building standards or just want better air quality in your space, we offer sustainable millwork options including FSC-certified wood and low-VOC finishes.
Not sure which material is right for your project? That is exactly what our free consultation is for. We will walk through your space, talk about your needs, and recommend materials that match your budget and your daily operations.

Our Restaurant Millwork Process
We have been doing this for 30 years, and our process has not changed much because it works. Here is what to expect:
1. Free consultation and site visit. We come to your location (or review your plans if it is a new build) and talk through what you need. We look at the space, discuss your workflow, and take measurements.
2. Design and material selection. We create detailed drawings and help you choose materials and finishes that fit your budget and your kitchen’s demands. You will see exactly what you are getting before we start building.
3. CNC precision manufacturing. Every piece is cut on our CNC equipment for accuracy down to a fraction of a millimetre. This means better fits, less waste, and a cleaner final product.
4. Professional installation. Our installation team works around your schedule to minimize disruption to your business. We know that downtime costs you money, so we plan installations carefully and stick to our timelines.
From first call to finished installation, most restaurant projects take 4 to 8 weeks depending on scope. We will give you a clear timeline before we start.

Common Questions About Restaurant Millwork
What materials work best for commercial kitchen cabinets? High-pressure laminate and solid surface are the two most popular choices. Both resist moisture, clean easily, and hold up to daily use. The right choice depends on your budget and how much heat and moisture the cabinets will face. We can walk you through the options during a free consultation.
How long does a restaurant millwork project take? Most restaurant millwork projects take 4 to 8 weeks from design approval to finished installation. Larger projects or custom bar builds can take longer. We will give you a clear timeline during the quoting process.
Can you work around our operating hours? Yes. We understand that closing your doors costs money. We schedule installations during off-hours when possible, and we can phase larger projects so your restaurant stays open during the work.
Do your materials meet health code standards? All of our restaurant millwork uses food-safe, non-porous materials and finishes that meet commercial kitchen standards. We have been building for restaurants across Saskatchewan for 30 years, and our work passes health inspections.
How much does restaurant millwork cost? Costs vary based on the size of your project, the materials you choose, and the complexity of the design. A simple cabinet replacement will cost less than a full custom bar build. The best way to get an accurate number is to request a free quote.
Do you build custom bars? Yes. We design and build custom bars from scratch, including under-bar cabinetry, back-bar shelving, bar tops, and serving stations. Every bar we build is designed around how your staff actually works.
Can you match our existing decor or brand? Absolutely. We work with hundreds of laminate colours, wood species, stains, and finishes. If you have a specific look in mind, bring us a photo or a sample and we will match it.
Do you serve areas outside Saskatoon? Yes. We work with restaurants and hospitality businesses across Saskatchewan, including Regina, Prince Albert, and surrounding communities. Check our service areas page for the full list.
